This class will run for 32 weeks and cover Windows to the World. There will be a review of literary elements, figurative language, annotation, and proper formatting. The focus will be learning to write the literary analysis paper and more advanced understanding of literature analysis using short stories, novels, a play and poetry. Students will also gain an understanding of the literary time periods that all literature falls under. This class will count as a full high school English credit.
Students must be able to write an MLA8 formatted, 5 paragraph essay in order to take this class. Students who I have never taught before will need to submit a new, independently written writing sample on a topic of my choosing in order to determine proper placement in this class.
